Benign Rectal, Anal, and Perineal Problems: Introduction

چکیده

In this chapter, I briefly review the evaluation and management of common benign conditions affecting the rectum, the anus, and the perineum: hemorrhoidal disease, anal fissures, anorectal abscesses and fistulas, pilonidal disease, hidradenitis suppurativa, pruritus ani, and solitary rectal ulcer syndrome (SRUS). For proper diagnosis and treatment of these conditions, an understanding of the relevant anatomy is essential [see Figure 1 -omitted].1
